Passion & Tradition
The passion for wine at Artimino comes from far away. The first evidence goes back in time to the Etruscan people, who were already producing wine in this territory in the latter part of the 7th century B.C. However, it was with the Medici family that the first important turning point in quality came about; in particular with the Edict of Cosimo III in 1716. Today the Artimino Estate aims at an ecological and responsible agriculture blended together with an ancient history and century old traditions. There is about 80 hectares of splendid vineyards in fully exposed sunlight with a variety of noble vines like Sangiovese and Cabernet Sauvignon, this latter is said to have been brought to this area by Caterina de' Medici, Queen of France. Wines of a less known Tuscan area, that is more genuine, where the rhythm of everyday life is still that of the country life. These wines are distinguished for their fine fragrance and elegance, yet without renouncing the strength and determination of the great red Tuscan wines.
